Trial Validation Error, even when using a purchased license

Why am I getting the Error: Trial validation failed… even if I am already using a Purchased License?

The Purchased Floating license is activated and is showing on the FlexNet license manager dashboard.

This error will occur if there is a Trial License that is still active on the machine that is trying to open or launch Lumerical’s design software.

To resolve this problem, please do the following:

  1. Open the Product’s license configuration utility. Select the Node lock tab and licenses section tab.

  2. Select the activated trial license, which is normally the license that has the expiry date that is expiring in the next weeks or days.

  3. Click on the “Deactivate” button. This should Deactivate the trial license.

  4. Afterward, you will be able to use and open the software using the purchased license.

  • If you are unable to deactivate the trial license and the status becomes “Unknown/Disabled”. This will still allow us to use the purchased license that is activated by the FlexNet license manager.
