Spliting power equally in INTERCONNECT

interconnect

In INTERCONNECT’s simulation, the coupling coefficient of Y-branch is defined a power coupling coefficient. But I run the simulation’s result indicated this coefficient is a splitting intensity of electric field equally, the summery power of two paths of Y-branch is not equal 1. Could you tell me how to split power equally by Y-branch or splitter?

Hi @askalee,

The Optical Y Branch does split the input signal power evenly if you look at the power right at its output ports. While the PDs convert optical power to current, if you measure its output power, it got squared up.
