How to remove the incident field form dipole?

#1

TFSF can be used to separate the computation region into two distinct regions – one contains the total field (i.e. the sum of the incident field and the scattered field), while the second region contains only the scattered field. I have a question here:
I want to achiveve the similar computation but with a dipole source.
One reason is that In lumerical, the field around dipole is always very intense. Another reason is that I want to see the scattering field around the dipole position.
Any suggestions?
thanks!

This can be done using the “custom TFSF” approach shown in the following page:
https://kb.lumerical.com/ref_sim_obj_tfsf_custom.html

You can use the example files there as a starting point and modify them a bit to suit your purpose. Please give it a go and let me know if you need further assistance.
