How to change the number of significant digits of effective index


Hi, I’m interested in the quasi-degenerate modes propagating in slightly elliptical deformed fiber core. This needs analysis results of effective index with high accuracy and many significant digits, but Lumerical MODE Solutions gives the data rounded to no more than six significant figures.
Is there a way to change the initial setting of the number of significant digits?

Computational tolerance for the FDE solver

I don’t know of any way to increase the precision of the result displayed in the graphical interface, but you could use the format command to increase the precision displayed in the script prompt and then print the result to the script prompt:

For example you could use the following code to print the effective index of mode 1 using 16 digits of precision:
