How can we use the continuous wave in FDTD Solutions?

Time Signal Pulse for Gaussian Input
Field enhancement of MoS2 layers on the substrate

It is possible to force the sources in FDTD Solutions to use a CW source, as explained below. However, in almost all situation, we recommend using the pulse source, even if you are trying obtain the response at a single frequency. If you force the simulation to use a CW source, it is important to recognize that the Frequency domain monitors may not be accurate, since they expect the fields to decay to zero by the end of the simulation.
The main exception to this rule is for nonlinear devices. In that case, creating a CW source is sometimes necessary.

To create a CW source:
Open the source properties and go to the Frequency/Wavelength tab
Select the ‘set time domain’ option.
Set a very long pulse length
