getelectrical vs Visualizing E field

I see that there is a difference between:

using the script get(“eletric”,“Plane1”)
right clicking on Plane 1 navigating visualize, and clicking E.

The get electric command returns |Ex|^2+|Ey|^2+|Ez|^2 from the monitor. I am guessing that I need to take the square root of this to get the ‘magnitude’ of the Efield, is that correct?

Hi @JamesR,

That is correct. The getelectric script command returns the electric field intensity |Ex|^2+|Ey|^2+|Ez|^2. To get the magnitude plotted in the Visualizer:

you need to take the square root of the result from getelectric.

Thank you for confirming this!
