Accuracy of frequency analysis in INTERCONNECT

Hi,

Can I know about the numerical errors introduced in a frequency domain simulation using INTERCONNECT? Does the SPS solver approximate for frequency points not present in the S matrix for a component?How is this calculation done?
I’m working on the Transmission spectra of an MZI circuit with custom components combined with PDK elements and I observe inconsistent results in the transmission spectra. My custom components have 64 frequency points in the S matrix.

Hi @deepak.v.simili,

The solver does a linear interpolation for the frequency points.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.I have attached an image of the transmission spectrum with fringes encircled in red suspected to be due to numerical error. Is it because the phase spectrum in my S matrix data has not converged?

Those fringes are due to abrupt changes in the phase spectrum data. I subtracted the phase by 2n*pi at those frequency points and then those fringes disappeared,
